The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was started in the year 2004 with a sanctioned intake of 60 students. The department is headed by Dr.Sumathi S, Assistant Professor, who has specialized in the area of power systems and has over 22Years of teaching experience and one year of Industrial Experience.
She completed B. E in EEE from Madurai Kamaraj University in the year 1990, M.E in Power Systems from UVCE, Bangalore in the year 1994 , M.S in software systems from BITS, Pilani in the year 2002 and Ph.D from VTU in the year 2014.
She has 22 years of Teaching Experience and one year of Industrial experience. she has published Papers in international Journals/Conferences. She also served as BOS/BOE Member of various Universities.
Currently she is guiding 4 Ph.D students. Her area of research includes FACTS controllers, AI Applications to Power Systems, Renewable Energy Sources.
The staff and the students of the department are working with the vision of making the department the top in India both in formal and non-formal education, research and service in electrical engineering over the next decade.
The laboratories are well equipped with state-of-art equipments to meet the growing needs of the industry, especially Electrical Machines Lab and High Voltage Lab have been established with an outlay of 35 lakhs and are considered one of the best setups in the state.
The department conducts workshops, seminars, conferences and invited lectures to keep the students and staff updated with the latest developments. The department also invites projects from industries to be implemented by the students of the college. The students have been well trained and with the support of the placement cell, have succeeded in being placed in top companies.
The faculty of the Electrical Engineering are involved in active research in the areas of power quality, power system voltage stability and high voltage engineering. The focus of the department currently is to set up an R&D center to enable teachers to work for their doctoral degree in the department and also undertake industrial consultancy.

- The department has state of art Electrical Machines lab, High voltage lab spread over 600 sq mts of area.
- The department also has exclusive computer lab with 35 high- end systems and softwares such as Mi-power, MATLAB, Kiel, Auto CAD .
- The department has well equipped Control systems lab, Logic design lab and Power Electronics Lab.
- The department has 3 class rooms with a seating capacity of 72 and 2 class rooms with a seating capacity of 30 The class rooms are well furnished along with LCD projectors.
- The department also has spacious HoD's cabin and Staff rooms, with internet facility and Wi-Fi connectivity

- 2016-17
- Ms. Raksha Umesh received "Jain University Gold Medal" award for securing highest marks in B.E Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Mr. Lohith S M, active member of Mountaining club, reached the Skandakphu peak (11950 ft) in Singalia National Park, West Bengal in January 2016 & also scaled the coveted Friendship Peak (17500ft) in the Pir Panjal range, Himachal Pradesh in July 2016.
- 2015-16
- Mr. Sreyash Sarkar was awarded the “Changing Scenery Poetry” Prize, 2016 for his socially awakening poem, "The Tibetan Epistle7Q".
- Ms. Sushma Kambanna has been recently nominated for the award “YUVA CHETANA” by Youth for Seva organization.
- 2014-15
- Mr. Shreyas Sarkar has been awarded “The Gandharva Puraskar” at National Thumri Festival, staged in Banares, in 2014.
- Ms. Shreyas Sarkar’s painting on oil, named “The Janitors of Exuberance”, went on to win “Grande Artista Dell’ano” award by the Italian magazine “The Arty Legume” and was consequently interviewed on Cubism & Existentialism..

- Mr. Sargam Kumar played for the under 19 national football team as the Goalkeeper for 2 Consecutive years.
- Ms. Rekha N S represented the college in Table Tennis Tournaments conducted by VTU.
- Mr. Aditya Jadiya participated in the under 19 boys category & secured 3rd Position at 10th National Football Champion ship held at Kalyan, Maharashtra.
